People from around the world have come to stay in the village of Hamburg, enriching the lives of local people with different skills and knowledge. In turn, they themselves have been greatly enriched through the experience of being part of our unique community.

Why Donate?

• Even the smallest donations can make a difference, for example:
• 40 Rand (4 USD) pays for village health workers to travel from their villages to Hamburg for training sessions and important report back meeting each month
• 205 Rand (20 USD)  is what we spend on a basic food parcel for a needy patient and their families: 5kg Maize Meal, 140g Soya Mince, 1L long life milk, 2.5kg sugar, 1kg dry beans, 5kg samp (crushed maize), 750ml cooking oil, 5kg bread flour, 3 tins of 250g pilchards, 1kg instant porridge. Families in our communities often struggle to find adequate and nutritious food. A healthy diet is essential to people with HIV/AIDS in order to fight off opportunistic infections.
• 500 Rand (50 USD) is the cost of one of our patient transport vehicles making a round trip to East London (120kms away from our village) where we bring patients to see specialist doctors or to be admitted to hospitals. We send one vehicle into town each day and thus we provide an absolutely essential service to the rural population we serve who have no other easy access to transportation.

Donations

As a non-government, not-for-profit organisation that relies heavily on grants and sponsorship for its work, financial donations, no matter how small, are vital to the continuation of the work of the Trust. You can make a donation to the Keiskamma Trust using a credit card by entering an amount on the right of this page and clicking the "PayPal Donate" button. You will be taken to the PayPal website where your donation will be processed. This payment system is facilitated by the Keiskamma Canada Foundation.
